Challenge
The projects tackled a range of healthcare challenges, from enabling surgery patients to complete pre-op tasks at home during COVID, to reducing insurance claims through posture-improvement education, and revolutionizing at-home dialysis care for patients.
Solution
Through innovative design and technology, these projects delivered user-friendly mobile and desktop platforms that empowered patients, enhanced healthcare accessibility, and improved patient outcomes across surgical preparation, posture correction, and home dialysis care.
Surgical Focus
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I designed a tablet app for Surgical Focus to help surgery patients complete pre-op tasks from home, addressing hospital overcrowding.
The app provided a daily calendar with tasks such as nurse check-ins, medication reminders, exercises, dietary guidelines, and surveys.
This solution enabled patients to safely prepare for surgery remotely, reducing the need for hospital visits. By allowing hospitals to focus on urgent cases, the app became a crucial tool, adopted by several hospitals, to streamline pre-op processes and improve patient outcomes during a critical time.
Awak Technologies
For AWAK Technologies, I designed an app for their ultra-portable peritoneal dialysis (PD) system, enabling kidney patients to perform dialysis at home or on the go.
This app allowed patients to easily schedule and manage treatments, while maintaining communication with healthcare providers.
By offering a more convenient and flexible dialysis solution, the app improved patient autonomy and quality of life, supporting AWAK’s mission to transform kidney care.
Colgate
As Head of Design at Colgate-Palmolive, I led the product design for the Hills to Home platform, connecting veterinarians, pet owners, and pharmacies.
My focus was on improving access to prescription pet food by creating a seamless and efficient digital experience that linked all parties involved. Through user-centered design, I conducted extensive research to understand the needs of pet owners and veterinarians, ensuring the platform met both satisfaction and operational efficiency metrics.
This multi-stakeholder collaboration balanced the requirements of internal teams and healthcare professionals to deliver a cohesive, impactful solution.
Colgate
Techletics approached me to tackle workplace wellness and cut insurance costs from posture-related injuries.
I designed a mobile app promoting better posture, fostering healthier habits, and reducing health claims.
The result was a user-friendly tool that improved employee well-being while saving employers and insurers money.
